Help protect yourself from shingles by getting your shot

Shingrix is covered under Medicare Part D benefits at no cost to you. We encourage you to get your Part D vaccines at network pharmacies for cost savings and convenience (you won’t need to submit a paper claim form).

Options to get your shingles shot with out Medicare Advantage (MAPD) plans:

Get your vaccine at a network pharmacy and pay nothing (covers both the vaccine and getting the shot).

Find a network pharmacy

Get the vaccine through a network pharmacy and have your doctor give you the shot. You pay the nothing for the vaccine and the doctor administration fee for getting the shot. You can then ask us to reimburse you for the doctor’s fee by submitting a Direct Member Reimbursement form. We’ll reimburse you for the allowable amount that Aetna pays the provider; any amount above the allowable amount is your responsibility.

Get the vaccine and injection from your doctor. You pay for both the vaccine and getting the shot. You can then submit a Direct Member Reimbursement form. If you paid out of pocket for the vaccine, we’ll reimburse you. For getting the shot, we’ll reimburse you for the allowable amount that Aetna pays the provider; any amount above the allowable amount is your responsibility.
